RAF Woodvale

We had a lovely day at Woodvale, this afternoon. We were greeted, by the wonderful and pleasant team of cadets. They loved listening to the Veterans in Sefton, and their experiences. They were as happy to meet with us, as we were to meet up with them. They also said that, they would always be happy to invite us in future events.

Southport Armed Forces Day (1st July 2018)

Today Patsy , my self , Dave Spencer and Alan manned the Veterans in Sefton stand in Southport for armed forces day. We were got a good spot by the town hall. Which meant Patsy and I met the Lord Mayor and the High Sheriff who showed a lot of interest in Veterans in Sefton. After the Parade Patsy and I went round and made new friends with 103 RA who graciously gave me enough pens for a while in return patsy had to join up . See the Pictures. Whilst Chatting with the army cadets we were introduced to Eric a D Day hero who was awarded the Légion d’honneur . Patsy and i were in awe of him and he attracted the attention of 2 wo2 who swarmed over. We were also introduced to a 95 year old para called Ken Lang who was parachuted into France before D-Day. Dave Spencer chatted with him for ages. It was a fun day but we all chatted to many people raising the profile about VIS .
